You Finally Found Each Other

Nicholas Gordon

You finally found each other after
Searching hard for love.
In this uncertain world you’ve come
To one you’re certain of.
How can you know the someone whom
You’ll cherish throughout life?
What indices identify
A husband or a wife?

Sometimes there’s a gravity:
Sudden, fierce, obsessed;
As if you’re falling towards some star,
By its strong pull possessed.

Or sometimes there’s a childhood sense
Of unselfconscious grace
Sustained within the safety zone
Of unprovoked embrace.

Sometimes there’s the terror of
The searing pain of grief,
As if the loss of love were death:
Sheer scream without relief.

Or there’s a sense of loveliness
Too precious to be lost:
A gift of all that makes life good,
Beyond constraint or cost.

Whatever signs you read, they all
Point in the same direction:
The self that lies beyond the self
In love and shared affection.

True love lies far beyond the will,
Yet you must choose to love:
Each day to put aside the self
And with the angels move.

With You In My Heart

Mick Jennings

With you in my heart, my life is complete,
You’re the air that I breathe and the food that I eat.
You are my soul mate, the beat in my heart,
It feels like a year each second we’re apart.

With you in my heart I’m walking on air,
I can imagine your perfume and the touch of your hair.
Your beautiful eyes, so kind and so green,
The loveliest sight I ever have seen.

With you in my heart, I am brim full of pride,
It’s as though i can achieve anything with you by my side.
You’re my rock, you?re my angel, my one true love,
You’re my present from heaven, my gift from above.

With you in my heart, I love you so much,
How caring you are, my soul you do touch.
You’re a beautiful princess, a pleasure to know,
My love for you just continues to grow.

With you in my heart, I’m the happiest man on earth,
I feel God has planned this since the day of my birth.
I could never love anyone the way I love you,
I hope and I pray that you feel the same way too.

With you in my heart, through the good and the bad,
I’ll be there when you need me, when you’re hurting or sad.
In fact I’ll be there for you any night, any day,
Whenever you need me, you just have to say.

With you in my heart, it really makes my day,
With the things that you do and the things that you say.
You and Eva deserve happiness and I will ensure,
From now, only good times come knocking at your door.

With you in my heart, I hope it feels good,
And that I am caring for you the way that I should.
I will always be happy, just by the love that you give,
I will protect you and love you for as long as I live.

We Will Be Jubilant

Joyce Hemsley

Today is the day I will fly to you,
Today is the day, dreaming comes true,
Wedding in Heaven ~ vows to renew!
Today I’ll recapture the joy I once knew.
And you will be jubulant too…my love.
You will be jubulant too.

Two Doves Wedding Poem
Author: Unknown

Heart with wingsTwo doves meeting in the sky
Two loves hand in hand eye to eye
Two parts of a loving whole
Two hearts and a single soul
Two stars shining big and bright
Two fires bringing warmth and light
Two songs played in perfect tune
Two flowers growing into bloom

Two Doves gliding in the air
Two loves free without a care
Two parts of a loving whole
Two hearts and a single soul.

There Is a Love So Certain
Author: Nicholas Gordon

There is a love so certain
It can underwrite all fears;
A passion so enduring
It abides beneath the years;
A yearning so consuming
It’s consumed by its own will
To yearn if need forever
For the one its need might still.

How beautiful the rapture
That sustains those long apart!
The joyful inner union
Of the undivided heart.

How sweet yet sad the music
That conveys such loyalty!
The devastated grace
Of the hope of love to be.

And now the mystic moment
Has arrived, and the reward
For all that time of waiting
Shall be gathered in a word.

And life with utter longing
Shall let down its golden hair
That these two faithful lovers
Find at last their pleasure there.

The Vows I Take Will Be Forever

Nicholas Gordon

The vows I take will be forever:
I’ll love you all my life.
There’s no part way, no holding back
Once we are man and wife.
The choice is made, and now I swim
In a far different sea,
The shores of which are bright green hills
Raised up for you and me.

Our love is like a mountainside
Awash in lovely flowers:
It is our home, our solid rock,
Where all bright things are ours.

And though of need we often must
Spend our days apart,
Our love will always be with us,
Held within the heart.

I feel it now, so strong and free,
So part of every breath
That it must live–I swear it will!
Even after death.

The Marriage of Dawn

Yuvarani Sami

Dawn dressed in darkness
Welcomes the lights of wedding
The day two hearts joining together
Two souls joining together
Bound by love.

A wedding is the entrance to a marriage
Stepping from a fairy tale carriage
Into quite ordinary air.
The realization comes,
Life is a beautiful dance
Requiring intense coordination.

The hearts are beating
Slightly faster than others,
Nervousness seeps through
For both the groom and the bride
Awaiting the great moment
Two selves, one life; two notes, one harmony
Loving not just one, but both of you.

Friends and family
Joined together
In the wedding bliss
To wish them love
To wish them happiness
To wish them great future together.

We wish them to find
Joy is in the simple things
Touching, embracing,
Like coming home knowing,
When your eyes meet and no words need to be said.

They already knew
Long before the sound of wedding bells
Love for each other till the very end
Still, we wish them love for each other till the very end.

So, let us listen to the sound of wedding bells
And join in the rhythm of joy
In the celebration of love.

The Heart Never Forgets

William J. Henderson Jr.

The fondest of our memories
Are those experienced through emotion
Of endearing thoughts and incendents
Timeless as the ocean.

Of family things, wedding rings and long lost loves
Our mind stirrs with happiness.
We remember those things that brought us joy
When we were a young girl or boy.

The mind files all things we cherish
With random access that takes only a stimulus to recall.
The mind ages, plays tricks… may not remember,
But the heart never forgets!

The Affair Did Linger

Joyce Hemsley

He never loved her “madly”
No plan to place a rarity
Upon her waiting finger.
Onward the affair did linger.

She was a darling, oh so fair,
Never would she say farewell…
Firmly clinging to the vine,
All other loves left behind.

Suddenly he changed his plan.
Took his shy girl by the hand
And at the Altar, made a vow
His gold and silver to endow.

gladly she embraced his world,
All her love songs she unfurled,
And rearranged his lonely life,
living and giving, as his wife.

She Walks In Beauty

Lord Byron

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow’d to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impair’d the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Sitting Here By Your Side

Lisa Parks

Sitting here by
your side…
Dreaming of my
wedding day…

Oh…what a day
that’s going to
be…
Marrying the man
of my dreams…

Walking down the aisle…
I never thought it
would be true…
Until then I am
Sitting by your side.

O Beautiful Wedding Day

Joyce Hemsley

Signs are…she loves “you”
and you hope this is true,
but if you’re thinking of leaving:
then don’t! Just ‘phone her
or send her a note;
she is longing for you
yearning for you, so just
keep love’s magic afloat.
And on a warm sunny day
take a red-rose bouquet
and maybe a ring, to make
her heart sing ~
“O beautiful Wedding Day”

My Wedding Day

Lesa Kendrick

My wedding day
The day before it we had a fight
Bits and pieces stay in the mind
Your tears and my fright
For all you would not say,
Became as a wall between us that night.

My wedding day
So many lights
Wanting to disappear into the crowd
Can’t you take me away?
Please, listen…
Hear the words I am afraid to say.

My wedding day
Why in the world am I here?
This isn’t truly where I long to be…
Please, just say the words,
The ones you’d speak to set me free.

My wedding day
A smile on my face to mask the sorrow
This wasn’t what I wanted….
I’ve truly only wanted you.
The biggest mistake I’ll ever make…
Are these vows I’m about to take.

My wedding day
And in the end I am in your arms
But for only heartbeat; a moment-
You hold me close as your tears overflow.
All I ever really wanted was to hold you…
And forever it breaks my heart
That you chose to let me go.
